The He/She Ratio

I found this He/She Ratio tool that compares the instances of "He" on a domain compared to the instances of "She". I took my favourite news sources and checked out the results:

So, do you think that anybody is left out?

  1. interesting bit of statistics there.

    Here be some more:

Usage of “he” vs “she” on askmen.com (47%/ 53%)
Usage of “he” vs “she” on allrecipes.com (61%/ 39%)
Usage of “he” vs “she” on marcmoss.net (17%/ 83%)
Usage of “he” vs “she” on http://www.fhm.com (49%/ 51%)
Usage of “he” vs “she” on penthouse.com (30%/ 70%)

I guess my point is that the sampling and the subject matter are subjective.

  2. Yes, the subject matter of say… the Economist vs. the subject matter of say… Penthouse, really highlights the problem I am examining here. Thanks!
